Hey, hi, hello!
Woah… so much has happened these past months. At Wikkelhouse Headquarters, but also in the world at large. With so much turmoil all around, we thought it would be nice to share some of our good news with you to help you take your mind off things. Simple stuff, happy stuff – you know you want it!

Flipping good
In our last Wrap Up we told you about our upcoming Flipchair. Well, guess what? The Flipchair is no longer upcoming, it’s here! It’s here! We’re incredibly excited because we’ve worked for years to bring this love child alive. Why is Flipchair so special, you wonder? Well, it is a nifty high chair that easily flips into a low chair. Or, alternatively: a nifty low chair that easily flips into a high chair. Flipchair looks great in your Wikkelhouse or anyother house for that matter. Go and check our brand-new webshop filled with Flipchairs and all sorts of things you didn’t know you needed. Good to know: we deliver our products in the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, France, UK and Scandinavia.

Bundespreis Winner
We are so proud! Last November Wikkelhouse has been awarded with the Bundespreis for Ecodesign, a German federal award for excellence in ecologically compatible production. Not that we needed any reassurance, but still, it is a pretty big deal, so you can imagine our joy when we heard the news. Imagine that: Germany, land of reason and logic, embracing a cardboard house! The world is changing. Mercedes, Siemens and Wikkelhouse.

Far away, yet so close
Remember we told you last time we dreamt about Wikkelhouses in far away places? Well, it’s happening. In the Andes, under a vulcano in Patagonia, the first South American Wikkelhouse is in production as we speak. Our Chilean companions are working hard to get the job done before their Summer ends in March. What makes this news extra special is that these specific Wikkelhouses are not made with cardboard, but with Chilean sheep wool. Local is the new global and we love it.

Why Helgoland is better than Zanzibar
Ever heard of Helgoland? It is a tiny, tiny island 50 sea miles off the German north coast. Fun fact: in 1890 Germany’s Willem II traded Zanzibar for Helgoland with the British. A fantastic deal, because Helgoland is a beautiful place. And for most of us: much easier to travel to than Zanzibar. We thought this might be of interest to you because last Winter we shipped two Wikkelhouses from our Amsterdam grounds to Helgoland. Plus: you can now book a stay in a Helgoland Wikkelhouse to enjoy the sun and the beaches and the seals and the wind and the sun and the beaches and the seals and the wind and the sun and the beaches.

More windows to the world
Those big fat windows at each end offering endless views and an abundance of light: it’s what makes Wikkelhouse extra special. Since we’re always evolving, we couldn’t help but think of a way to expand this feature. It took some time to figure this one out, but Eureka! Why not have big fat windows on all sides of a Wikkelhouse? More endless views, more light pouring in… so simple, why didn’t we think of this before? You are the master of your Universe, which is why Sideway windows are now available as an option. Pick and place your windows whichever way you want, you master you!
